Getting Started with DiscPile

Getting your disc golf collection into DiscPile takes just a few minutes. Here's how to get up and running.

1. Create Your Account

Head to discpile.com/register and sign up. It's free — no credit card, no trial period, no catch.

2. Add Your First Disc

Once you're in, hit the Add Disc button and fill in the details:

  • Manufacturer & Mold — e.g., Innova Destroyer, Discraft Buzzz
  • Plastic Type — Star, ESP, Gold Line, etc.
  • Weight — In grams
  • Flight Numbers — Speed, Glide, Turn, Fade
  • Condition — Rate from 1-10
  • Color & Notes — Whatever helps you identify it

Pro tip: You don't have to fill in everything. Start with the basics and add details later.

3. Add Photos

Upload one or more photos per disc. This is especially useful for:

  • Documenting rare or valuable discs
  • Keeping records for insurance
  • Showing condition for potential trades
  • Just admiring your collection

4. Organize with Categories

Categories let you sort discs however makes sense to you:

  • In My Bag — What you're currently throwing
  • Backup — Reserves for your main throws
  • Storage — The collection shelf
  • For Sale / For Trade — Ready to move
  • Lost — RIP (but at least you have the record)

Create whatever categories work for your system.

5. Build Your Wishlist

See a disc you want? Add it to your wishlist. Track what you're looking for so you're ready when you spot it at a shop, tournament, or online.

6. Import from a Spreadsheet

Already tracking your discs in a spreadsheet? Don't re-enter everything manually.

DiscPile supports CSV import — export your spreadsheet as a CSV file and upload it. Map your columns to DiscPile fields and you're done.

7. Explore Your Collection

Once your discs are in, you can:

  • Filter and search by manufacturer, plastic type, speed, stability, or any field
  • Sort by date added, weight, speed, or name
  • View stats on your collection at a glance

Tips for New Users

Start with what's in your bag. Don't try to catalog 200 discs on day one. Get your current bag in first, then work through your collection over time.

Use photos. Even quick phone shots make a huge difference. Future you will thank present you when you need to file an insurance claim or describe a disc for a trade.

Keep it updated. When you buy a new disc, add it. When you lose one, mark it. The value of a collection tracker is only as good as the data in it.
